13th Americas Regional Meeting

The 13th Americas Regional Meeting in 2024 was organised online in two stages from 4 to 6 June and from 24 to 26 September 2024. The meetings were co-hosted by three RCEs, RCE Cuenca del Plata (Argentina), RCE Salisbury (USA) and RCE Curitiba-Parana (Brazil), under the theme ‘Building a stronger RCE Americas Network towards ESD for 2030 and the Roadmap for the RCE Community’. This year’s Americas Regional Meeting represents the collective efforts of three RCEs in the Northern and the Southern Hemispheres of Americas region.

The regional meetings aimed to address and develop the strategic alignment of the Americas RCE Network toward Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the SDGs (ESD for 2030) by fostering the connection and synergies among RCEs.

The first regional meeting in June focused on sharing updates to facilitate the collaboration among RCEs in the Americas region. The second meeting in September discussed the future strategy, planning and the governance of RCE network in the region. Each of the meetings were conducted within three days, with approximately three hours of presentations, discussions, and collaborative activities per day.

The regional meetings also contributed to reducing the language barrier by incorporating both English and Spanish languages in the meeting program and discussions.  This approach helped facilitate communication within the Americas region.
