RCE Kuching will be organising a forum on 'Valuing Water' on 22 March, 2021 to celebrate the United Nations World Water Day 2021.
The forum panel will relate to the current status of SDG 6 Water and Sanitation globally, and specifically in the Asia-Pacific region, with sharing on the work of RCEs.
UNU-IAS will organise a webinar on Monday 22 March, 2021 from 21:00 – 22:45 JST, in observance of World Water Day (WWD) 2021 in collaboration with UNU Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) and the Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC).
The theme of the WWD 2021 is 'Valuing Water' and this webinar will be aligned with this allowing for discussions by experts to analyse different roles and values that water offers as well as how these values can be synthesised to achieve SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
Members of RCE Ogun paid a courtesy visit to meet with the New Vice Chancellor of Covenant University Prof. Humphrey Adebayo to present their 2020 report and overview of the activities of the Centre.
Forty youth members from Japanese RCEs gathered online for the 3rd Japan RCE Youth Meeting held on 18 February, 2021, co-organised by RCE Okayama and UNU-IAS, to discuss youth activities on education for sustainable development (ESD) and to share relevant ideas among members. The meeting was held jointly with the Working Level Meeting of Japanese RCEs, and was divided into two parts: (i) the sharing of RCE youth activities, and (ii) a group discussion.
The 7th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum will be held virtually on 8-12 March, 2021 under the theme 'Enabling Resilience for All: The Critical Decade to Scale-up Action'. The Forum will discuss how adaptation practitioners and stakeholders can work together towards the pertinent outcomes and practical solutions needed to address the challenges of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region. The event is hosted by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, together with the Asia-Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN) Secretariat at UNEP.
We are pleased to announce an upcoming special issue of the journal Frontiers in Sustainability, and a call for abstracts exclusively for RCEs. Papers will be part of a themed article collection hosted within Frontiers in Sustainability on the research topic ‘The Role of the Human Dimension in Promoting Education for Sustainable Development at the Regional Level’.

The RCE SDG Youth Challenge 2020 focused on localised youth action to address SDGs 11, 12 and 15.
This webinar is the 2nd of three webinars exploring ways to promote positive peace, leading to UNESCO's March Regional Dialogue on building a peaceful and sustainable future in Asia-Pacific. This second webinar explores current issues such as the climate crisis, natural environment and the importance these have for peace and human sustainability.

In the lead-up to the 12th Global RCE Conference, the hosts RCE Scotland hosted two pre-conference webinars.
The first of these, 'RCE Global Network 2021: Achieving the SDGs: Action through Learning' was held on 4 February, 2021 from 8:00-10:00am GMT, and the second on 8 June, 2021 from 8:00-10:00am GMT.
