RCE Lucknow and RCE Greater Western Sydney organised a Sustainability Exchange Programme from 27 November - 7 December, 2018 at Lucknow in India. Developed by the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) in association with Western Sydney University (WSU) and University of Lucknow, this interdisciplinary two-week course focused on bringing integrated perspectives on sustainability along ecological and social dimensions and used them to examine critical themes of importance to India, such as population, water, health and climate change in view of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The second RCE Youth Challenge is now open for expressions of interest for youth-based projects focusing on SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. All youth are welcome to get involved from any region.

2018 RCE Awards for Innovative Projects on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

Following on from the success of the ‘Global Perspectives Series Webinar – Health and Sustainability: Ensuring Healthy Lives’ held on 8 May, 2018, RCEs Srinagar and Greater Western Sydney have further strengthened their collaboration.

The International Association of Universities' (IAU's) 2018 International Conference, hosted by the University of Malaya and held from 13-15 November, 2018 focused on 'Higher Education Partnerships for Societal Impact'. The event provided an opportunity for higher education communities around the world to discuss their mandate and social responsibility, while presenting different forms of partnerships adopted around the worl

The 7^th Americas Regional RCE Meeting, hosted by RCE Cuenca del Plata, was held in Posadas, Argentina from 24-27 October, 2018 under the theme ‘ESD, Conservation and Climate Change in the 2030 Agenda’.

Two affiliate Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) of RCE Greater Yenagoa – the Community Inter-Relations and Conciliation Initiative (CIRCI) (as lead partner) and SprintLife (SL) (as associate), visited a number of communities in the Zarama and Okordia clans between 7-9 November, 2018.

The Global RCE Service Centre gladly announces an open call to host RCE Regional Meetings for 2019.

Applications are being accepted from now until Thursday 31 January, 2019 (11:59pm JST), with an earlier deadline to allow for more time in the planning process and the ability to host earlier in the year if desired, in response to feedback from the RCE community.

RCE CREIAS-Oeste and RCE Porto Metropolitan recently cooperated with the Municipality of Arouca and Arouca Geopark Association (organisers of the Arouca Chestnut Festival) to hold an event called 'Acorn, Forest and Food' during the Festival, on 28 October, 2018. This event was also attended by Slow Food Porto and Quercus.

RCE Greater Atlanta celebrated its official launch and acknowledgement by the United Nations University at an event hosted on 10th October, 2018 by the Center for Civil and Human Rights, an RCE member organisation. The event also kicked off the Center’s 70th anniversary celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and included presentations by Porsche and the Office of the Consulate General of Switzerland.
