The Global RCE Youth Network in collaboration with RCE Kano, RCE London, and RCE Penang, in partnership with the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia will bring together European, African and Asian RCEs virtually for the 1st Europe-Africa-Asia RCE Youth Virtual Conference.
The European Economic and Social Committee, the European Committee of the Regions and the Climate Chance Association will be holding an event on 23 April, 2018 to launch the European Dialogue on Non-State Climate Action. The purpose of this event will be to put forward an action plan aiming at assessing, recognising, accelerating and supporting climate actions, as well as improving governance. The event seeks to promote the common voice of non-state actors.

RCE Srinagar celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8th March, 2018 across two separate events.
The first youth-led Asia-Pacific SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Challenge, supported by the RCE network, commenced in February with 30 youth-led projects submitted across 12 RCEs, as well as three ESD-related projects from UNESCO.
During the challenge, youth across the globe will focus on SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water to mobilise on-ground activities in their local region.

RCE Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee (JKPSCC), organised the 2nd Annual State Level Conference on 21 January, 2018 in Jammu, India, focusing on the theme, the “Role of Private Schools in Education for Sustainable Development”.
The Global RCE Network is guided by principles of open communication, fair play, the sharing of ideas and support of each other. With even greater cooperation and understanding towards each other’s needs, we will forge new friendships and deepen old ones during the coming year.
Established in 2012, the RCE Award celebrates projects and programmes on ESD within the Global RCE Network, honouring RCEs who have made outstanding contributions to address local sustainable development challenges in their regions.
Bringing together 35 RCEs from 22 countries, the ‘First RCE Thematic Conference: Towards Achieving the SDGs’ was held in Okayama, Japan from 5-7 December, 2017.
The Education for Sustainable Development Programme at UNU-IAS has worked with Regional Centres of Expertise (RCEs) worldwide to develop a new publication titled ‘Ensure Healthy Lives and Promote Well-being For All: Experiences of community health, hygiene, sanitation and nutrition within Regional Centres of Expertise on ESD’.
